Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation turns the indoor pool at the J. Thomas Lovell Jr. Community Center at Legacy Park into a floating pumpkin patch the Saturday before Halloween. Kids swim out to pick their perfect pumpkin from the water, then stay for swimming, a craft, and a gift to take home. The event runs 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Appropriate swim attire is required, so bring swimsuits and towels; children who are not confident swimmers should stay with an adult in the water. Register ahead through the city's online system.
