Olathe Public Library

Olathe Public Library's Winter Fest fills the full event space at Indian Creek Library for a Saturday morning in mid-December. The library promises crafts, games, movies and music, plus a belated National Llama Day celebration with real alpacas and a llama for kids to meet. The festival also launches the library's 'Bundle up with Books' Winter Reading Challenge, which runs from December 12 to February 14: children, teens and adults log books on Beanstack, earn badges for reading and activities such as bingo, and can win prizes in each age group. Families are invited to bring new socks, hats, scarves, blankets, mittens or gloves for the 'Give the Gift of Warmth' drive benefiting the Olathe Public School Foundation. Drop in any time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
