Tivoli Village, the open-air shopping village in Summerlin, holds its annual tree lighting on the evening before Thanksgiving. The three-hour evening is hosted by emcee Jillian Lopez and includes holiday music, a meet-and-greet with the Sugarplum Fairy and the Nutcracker, and a performance by the village's own dance troupe, the Reindeer Rockettes, before the big tree is switched on. A highlight is a wish-granting moment with Make-A-Wish, celebrating a local child's wish in front of the crowd, which can be a nice way to talk with kids about giving during the holidays. Young children who love ballet characters will enjoy meeting the Nutcracker figures, and families can stay on for dinner or a stroll through the shops afterwards. The organizer asks guests to RSVP through the link on the event page; no admission price is listed. The event is outdoors in the village, so bring a jacket for after dark.
