A drop-in Halloween-afternoon maker workshop at the California African American Museum in Exposition Park, inspired by the exhibition Sinners: Sounds That Summon. Led by Design Hive, a Los Angeles creative education studio that runs hands-on maker and STEAM workshops for museums and schools, participants of all ages decorate small translucent lanterns lit by LED tea lights, aiming to recreate the eerie juke-joint glow of the film's visuals. The workshop invites visitors to slow down, look closely and reflect through making. Families can join at any time during the 90-minute session and leave with their lantern. It is free and open to all ages and abilities; RSVP is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome.
