Former kindergarten teacher and art educator Jason Williams — known to kids as Story J — leads a not-too-scary Halloween storytime at the California African American Museum (CAAM) in Exposition Park, inspired by the museum's new exhibition Sinners: Sounds That Summon. With his animated assistants, Story J takes children and families through playful tales, interactive games and creative activities that explore the many ways a story can be told; kids should come ready to read, draw and imagine. The program runs an hour and a half on Sunday afternoon. It is free; RSVP is encouraged but not required, walk-ins are welcome, and large groups are asked to email the museum first.
