An evening by the fire at Eastman Nature Center that tackles the myths that make some animals seem spooky. Naturalists ask questions such as whether bats really fly into people's hair or whether spiders always bite, and explain what the animals are actually doing. The 90-minute program ends with roasting a treat over the fire, which makes it a good after-dark outing for families with school-age children. Held outdoors, so dress warmly. Registration required (open until 11/5), $6 per person.
