Ridley Creek State Park marks National Hug a Bear Day on Saturday, November 7 with a naturalist-led exhibit about bears of the world, open from 10 am to 2 pm at the Multi-Use Trail outdoor classroom by the stone bridge below the mansion. Visitors can look closely at skulls, tracks, scat, models and photos, learn bear safety for hiking and camping, and find out how bears act as both predators and scavengers, including Pennsylvania's American black bear. Children are invited to bring their favorite teddy bear. Free, drop-in, no registration required.
