Downtown Tempe and ASU Chabad host their fourth annual public Menorah Lighting Ceremony in Ragsdale–MLK Park during Hanukkah, on the evening of Wednesday, December 9, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The community evening centers on the ceremonial lighting of the menorah with traditional blessings and a communal candle lighting, and it adds kids' crafts and activities, select kosher treats and time to mingle with neighbors. At about an hour and a half outdoors, it suits families with children of any age, whether they light candles at home or are learning about Chanukah for the first time. The Downtown Tempe event page gives parking, transit, bike and scooter, and rideshare directions to the park; no street address or admission fee is printed.
