Matthew Buchholz of Alternate Histories visits the Children's Museum Studio to help families invent 'community cryptids' inspired by Pittsburgh. Using a variety of art materials, children design their own mysterious creatures and think about the stories behind them — which neighborhood a cryptid might live in and which landmark could become part of its legend. It is an unticketed drop-in activity during two blocks, 11 am–1 pm and 2–4 pm, so families can fit it into a regular museum visit; museum admission applies.
