For older kids who have outgrown the museum's toddler areas, the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh offers Halloween-season weekend workshops for ages 9 and up. On October 17 and 18 participants make masks, and on October 24 and 25 they screen-print their own treat bags for trick-or-treating. Each workshop lasts 90 to 120 minutes and teaches practical making skills. Children may attend without a parent, so caregivers can explore the rest of the museum with younger siblings. Session times and prices are on the museum's ticketing page.
