East County Library in Gresham hosts an annual Novy God celebration, a Russian-language New Year's party, on Sunday, January 17, 2027, the Sunday of the MLK holiday weekend. Children and their families can come to meet Ded Moroz and Snegurochka, Father Frost and the Snow Maiden, and the library promises music, crafts, gifts and more. The whole program is presented in Russian, with the listing written in both Russian and English. It is tagged for kids and families, tweens, teens and adults and is filed under performances, music and cultural celebrations. The library describes it as an annual cultural celebration that lasts about two hours, but the public listing shows the day only as 'All day', with setup and breakdown across the auditorium and several community rooms, so the start time is not published. Check with the library before heading out. The calendar shows no registration step and no fee.
