Columbia Springs, a 100-acre environmental education site on the Old Evergreen Highway, leads guided forest walks on its trails with a rotating topic each month. A staff naturalist or expert volunteer guides the group and points out the wildlife and plants that make the site unique. The walks are suited to all ages, but the trails are not stroller-friendly, so bring a carrier for babies and sturdy shoes for kids. Registration is requested so staff know how many people are coming, and groups of eight or more should email ahead. A $5 per person donation is suggested.

What was checked & what still needs confirmation
December date conflicts: Columbia Springs page says 'December 19, 2026, 3-4:30 pm (Registration coming soon!)' (a Saturday, not the third Wednesday), while the VDA calendar lists the December Forest Walk on Dec. 16 at 3 pm. Recorded Dec. 19 from the organizer page; confirm before going. Nov. 18 is a hatchery tour, recorded separately.
