Metro invites volunteers to Scouters Mountain Nature Park in Happy Valley on Saturday, November 7, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to plant native plants along the park's hiking trails. Participants meet in the parking lot, and Metro provides all tools and supplies. The event is free and open to all ages, but minors must be accompanied by an adult, so it works as a family volunteer morning for children who can handle three hours of moderate outdoor work. Space is limited and advance registration is required through Metro's sign-up form. Pets are not allowed (service animals are welcome), and interpretation, translation or disability accommodations can be requested from the event contact at least three business days ahead.
