Kennedy School, McMenamins' hotel and pub complex in a former Northeast Portland elementary school, invites kids in costume to trick-or-treat around the property on Halloween afternoon, Saturday, October 31, from 3 to 5 p.m. After the candy run, families can stay for a free all-ages Halloween party in the gymnasium from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with live music by Tallulah's Daddy. The event is free and needs no tickets, so it suits families with young children who want an early, indoor-and-outdoor Halloween outing before dark. Note that the same venue hosts a separate 21-and-over Halloween dance party later that night (8 to 11 p.m.), which is not part of this family event.
