A Thanksgiving-morning trail race inside Mary S. Young Park in West Linn, produced by Runwithpaula Events to benefit the West Linn Food Pantry. Young children get their own half-mile Kid's Trail Trot at 8:45 am — a bark-trail out-and-back for kids 6 and under, with parents welcome to guide and cheer — before the chip-timed 3.8-mile trail race starts at 9 am. The main course mixes paved path and bark and dirt trail with steep climbs, stairs and Willamette River views, and a stroller-modified course is signed. Hot chocolate and treats are served at the finish, 50 pumpkin pies are handed out at random, and the best Turkey Day costume wins a gift card. Bring a can of unexpired food for the pantry. Packets can be picked up the day before at Portland Running Company in Beaverton or from 7:45 am at the park; parking is at the park, at West Linn Lutheran Church and on streets near Mark Lane. Dogs must stay off the trail during the race.
