A hands-on monthly cooking series for middle-schoolers at the Sandy Community & Senior Center. Participants practice knife skills and different cooking techniques while making food the whole family will enjoy, then share what they prepared at the end of class. Upcoming menus: meatballs (Oct. 21), French toast sticks (Nov. 18) and chocolate peanut butter buckeyes (Dec. 16). Classes need at least four participants and are capped at 12. Let the instructor know about any dietary needs such as allergies, gluten-free or vegetarian diets. Register by phone at 503-668-5569 or online through the city's activity registration.
