An hour-long astronomy workshop for kids in grades 3 to 8, led by high school students from the Stepping Into STEM initiative, which aims to introduce younger students to unusual fields of science. Participants look at handmade models of the solar system, launch balloon rockets and work out the phases of the Moon using cookies. It is held after school at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center. Registration is required because space is limited.
