The Walt Disney Family Museum's in-person Studio Series gives young people aged 7 to 17 a 90-minute hands-on animation workshop on Saturday afternoons in the Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall. Each session pairs a short look at how a subject has been brought to life on the big screen with time at the museum's animation light tables, where participants draw and animate their own version. This fall and winter the youth sessions are Animate a Flying Elephant (October 24), Animate a Frog (November 14), Animate Snow Falling (December 12) and Animate a Puppy Yawn (December 19), each from 1:00 to 2:30 PM; separate adult sessions run in the mornings. The frog session, for example, explores the history of animated amphibians before participants make their own creatures move. Tickets are $25 for non-members and $22 for members and are sold through the museum's online ticketing; ASL interpreters can be requested at least two weeks ahead.
