The Other Reindeer, a professional caroling group in Dickensian costume, give two short holiday sets at the Castro Valley Library on a December Saturday afternoon. The quartet — two men and two women — sing in four-part harmony and interact with audiences of all ages, and their repertoire mixes traditional Christmas carols with contemporary, non-religious and Hanukkah songs. The group has performed at hundreds of holiday events since 2009 and has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The library lists the program for everyone, and each set lasts about 30 minutes (2:00–2:30 PM and 3:00–3:30 PM), which suits little ones with short attention spans as well as older children who like to sing along. No registration is listed.
