A winter-break morning at the Sumner library: children practice reading aloud to an interactive robot cat or robot dog, a calm, judgment-free listener for developing readers (robot pals are first-come, first-served). Afterwards they make catnip mice and rope toys to donate to rescue animals or take home for a family pet; materials are provided. Recommended for ages 6 and up because a sewing needle is used, and every child must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
