The main day of Kent Winterfest brings families to Town Square Plaza in downtown Kent for an afternoon and evening of holiday activities. Students from local studios and schools perform on the stage throughout the afternoon, including Allegro Performing Arts Academy, Spotlight Dance Studio, Kentlake Voices and Strings, the Kentlake Jazz Band and School of Rock Kent. The Winterfest parade steps off at 5 pm and the tree is lit at 6 pm. Santa is there from 5 to 7 pm for photos, and children can drop a wish list in Santa's mailbox (bring one with a mailing address for a reply, or fill out a postcard in Santa's tent). Food booths, community booths and local craftspeople round out the festival. It is presented by Kent Parks, the Kent Lions Club and Kent Downtown Partnership.
