The St. Louis region's largest and oldest Thanksgiving Day race reaches its 44th edition on Thanksgiving morning in Downtown Kirkwood. Runners and walkers choose a three-mile course starting at 7:30 a.m. or a six-mile course starting at 8:10 a.m., both beginning at the corner of Adams and Taylor. The Kirkwood and Webster Groves parks and recreation departments host it together, and the shorter course is the usual choice for families who want a Thanksgiving tradition before dinner. Registration is $25, and residents can add an optional donation to the Scholarship Foundation, which pays for swim lessons, camps and other recreation for families in need.
