Clearwater Nature Center in Cosca Regional Park hosts a 45-minute Animal Encounters session on Saturday, November 7 from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Families meet the center's resident animal ambassadors - reptiles, amphibians, birds of prey and more - and learn through interactive activities how each species survives in the wild, why habitat matters and what people can do to protect it. The program is open to all ages, so siblings of different ages can come together. Tickets are $4 for county residents and $6 for non-residents; all participants must register through ParksDirect, and the session may be cancelled if registrations are too low. The center is at 11401 Thrift Road in Clinton (301-297-4575, clearwaternaturecenter@pgparks.com).
