Flights of Fancy is the National Air and Space Museum's free story time for children at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, held every Tuesday and Thursday at 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The story currently listed, Space Spinners, is a funny tale about two tiny spiders who stowed away on a Space Shuttle; afterwards children hear what space travel is like and learn about real experiments that sent spiders to space to see whether they could still spin webs in microgravity. Story time is free, but parking at the Udvar-Hazy Center costs $15. The room changes, so ask at the Welcome Center for that day's location. The museum's building on the National Mall holds its own Thursday 11 a.m. session of the same story time, which needs the museum's free timed-entry pass.

Feed lists the Space Spinners story on Oct 20, 22, 27 and 29; the description states the Tuesday/Thursday 11 and 11:30 schedule. Later monthly stories not yet in the feed. Address from the Udvar-Hazy visit page.
