Colvin Run Mill in Great Falls looks at how sailors were fed during the War of 1812 in this hands-on history program on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from noon to 2 pm. Families watch the mill grind grain using the power of its waterwheel, meet members of Ship's Company, a War of 1812 reenactors' group, and hear stories about life at sea. Participants then make ship biscuits, also called hardtack, the hard bread sailors lived on. The program is listed for ages 4 to adult. The fee is $14, and all participants, including accompanying adults, must register and pay. Free parking is available at the site.
