About this adventure

Night Walk: Misunderstood Animals is a free evening program at The Wildlands Conservancy's Oak Glen Preserve, where the conservancy also keeps the Southern California Montane Botanic Garden and a Discovery Center with kids' quizzes posted along the garden trails. As the title says, it is a night walk themed around animals that people tend to misunderstand, and it sets off at 5:10 p.m. Timing is strict: check in between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m., because the entrance gate closes at 5:10 p.m. and latecomers are not let in even with a reservation. Bring water, close-toed shoes and clothes suited to the weather; a red flashlight helps but is not required. Tickets are free but must be reserved on the conservancy's registration page before registration closes on Thursday, November 12. The listing gives no age range, so ask the preserve whether the walk suits very young children.
