An overnight family campout run by Leander Parks & Recreation at Devine Lake Park. Families check in at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 and pitch their own tent; the evening includes dinner, games, crafts, an outdoor movie and campfire time, and breakfast is served the next morning before check-out at 10 a.m. It is a low-stakes first camping trip for young children, with restrooms and paved paths nearby rather than backcountry. The fee is $35 per tent with a maximum of four people per tent, and registration is online through the city's recreation catalog. Bring a tent and sleeping gear, weather-appropriate clothing, flashlights or lanterns and personal items; camping chairs, extra snacks and outdoor games are optional.
