Mammals of every size live in Lockhart State Park, and this Master Naturalist-led walk is about finding their signs and understanding their habits and the adaptations that help them survive. Expect a 3/4-mile hike on moderate terrain with discussion along the way; all ages are welcome and no registration is required. Wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, bring water, and apply sunscreen or bug repellent if needed. Meet the guide at the Creekview Trailhead — take the first left after park headquarters, pass the campgrounds and park along the paved loop. The hike runs from 10 to 11 am and is offered with the Lost Pines Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists.
