Lockhart State Park's homeschool series uses the park as an outdoor classroom for homeschool students in grades 1–5 (ages 6–12). November's topic is local history: a 3/4-mile hike on moderate terrain to hear about the history of the area and the Civilian Conservation Corps, who built much of the park. Each class is limited to 25 participants and online registration is required; the park asks families to cancel by email or phone if plans change so another child can take the spot. Dress for the weather in sturdy shoes and layers and bring water. Meet at the Creekview Trailhead. The calendar shows several sessions in the week of Veterans Day; some are already marked FULL.
