McHenry County Conservation District

McHenry County Conservation District opens the 1854 Greek Revival Powers-Walker House at Glacial Park Conservation Area for a drop-in living-history afternoon on Sunday, November 8, from noon to 4 p.m. Visitors step back to the 1850s to see harvest-season chores the families who lived there would have done, such as baking in the wood-burning cook stove, and children can try their hand at corn shelling. It is free, drop-in and listed for all ages, and pairs well with a walk on Glacial Park's trails nearby in Ringwood.
