How do we know what we know about the past? On Saturday, November 21, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, kids ages 9 to 12 at Isle a la Cache Museum find out by getting hands-on with history: digging for clues, examining artifacts and recording history themselves. Free; children must come with a chaperone; register by November 19. The museum interprets the 18th-century French fur trade on the Des Plaines River, so the artifacts tie into local history.
