A new family-friendly model train exhibit inside The Morton Arboretum's Firefly Pavilion. Nearly 1,000 feet of miniature track winds through detailed woodland and fairytale scenes, with trains running along elevated sections above the landscape. It opens with Illumination on Friday, November 13, 2026 (daytime visits only, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., that day) and stays through Monday, February 15, 2027; it is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Daytime tickets are separate, with last entry at 3 p.m.; it can also be added to Illumination tickets in the evening (last entry 7:30 p.m.). Tickets are $9 for adults and children 4 and older ($7 members); children 3 and younger are free. Weekend concessions sell hot chocolate and train cookies.
