About this adventure

Fair Oaks Farms in Fair Oaks, Indiana, closes its harvest season with the Pumpkin Smash Bash on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from noon to 4 p.m. Central time in the farm's Pumpkin Patch. Visitors help clear the leftover pumpkins: they can smash them with bats, stomp on them with plastic covers over their shoes, or throw them at a target, which the farm pitches as a way to fertilize the patch and sow seeds for next year. There are also games, drinks and food, and it is the last day of the orchard season for the Game Zone. All of the activities are kid-friendly, though some may need a guardian's help, and the farm suggests play shoes and clothes that can get messy. Entry is with the $5 orchard admission for ages 3 and up; ages 2 and under are free, and there is no extra charge for the pumpkin smashing. The event runs rain or shine but will not take place in severe weather, with updates posted on the farm's social media.
