After Halloween, bring carved and uncarved pumpkins to The Preserve of Highland Park on Friday, November 6, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Families smash them for composting, keeping organic waste out of landfills, and learn how composting turns pumpkins into nutrient-rich soil. It is free and open to all ages; kids especially enjoy the smashing part, so bring old shoes.
