Organizer
Maggie Daley Park (Chicago Park District)

The Ice Skating Ribbon at Maggie Daley Park is an outdoor skating path that winds through the park at the east end of the Loop, and it returns for the 2026–27 season from Friday, November 13, 2026 to closing day on Sunday, March 7, 2027. Every skater needs a ticket for a specific two-hour session; tickets are released in blocks at noon on set Mondays (November 2 for November 13–29, November 30 for the December 11–January 3 holiday season, and so on), and sessions often sell out, with walk-up sales only when a session still has space online. Weekday sessions start at 11am, 2pm, 5pm and 8pm; weekends and the holiday season add an 8am session. Rental skates run from child size 8 to adult 15 in figure and hockey styles. Skate aids can be rented first come, first served, but skate trainer attachments, strollers and carrying children on the ice are not allowed, so it suits children who can already stand and glide on their own. Skate assist sleds are available for skaters with physical disabilities and a companion. The ribbon is outdoors and runs through most weather; closures are announced on the park website and by email.
