About this adventure

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the Forest Preserves of Cook County invites volunteers to help restore the woodland around the Little Red Schoolhouse Nature Center in Willow Springs. The work is cutting down invasive plants: volunteers use hand tools to remove them, then build and burn brush piles. The nature center provides the tools and snacks. Volunteers must be 8 or older, and anyone 15 or younger must come with an adult. The workday lasts three hours and is free. Questions go to the nature center at 708-839-6897.
