Families search a designated area of Hastings Lake Forest Preserve in Lake Villa for flagged clues about the gifts we receive from nature on Sunday, November 22. The hunt is self-paced: start any time between 1 and 3 pm, cover about 1 mile of clues (roughly an hour, depending on pace) and finish with a hot drink and a s'more by the campfire. Meet the Environmental Education staff at Shelter A. Registration is required so there are supplies for everyone; the fee for those over 3 is $5 for Lake County residents and $7 for nonresidents, and children 3 and under do not need to register. Leave pets at home; service animals are permitted.
