River Trail Nature Center's annual scary storytelling night around the campfire returns on Saturday, October 24, starting at 8 p.m. A naturalist-led evening of spooky tales outdoors, it is aimed at older kids, teens and adults: the Forest Preserves list it for ages 8 and up. The fee is $5 per person. Dress warmly for a late-October night by the fire, and plan for a dark walk to and from the campfire circle at the Northbrook nature center.
