On weekend afternoons, River Trail Nature Center in Northbrook invites visitors to join staff at feeding time for its outdoor ambassador animals. At 3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, visitors learn about these animals and their habits while they are fed, a short and easy stop for young children during a visit to the nature center. The program is free and listed on weekends through at least December 13. Check the Forest Preserves calendar for the current dates before you go.
