About this adventure
The Forest Preserve District of Will County opens Day & Night, an interactive exhibit at the Four Rivers Environmental Education Center in Channahon, on Wednesday, November 4. It is on display through Sunday, January 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays to Sundays. The exhibit invites visitors to an old oak tree in the light of day and the dark of night. The daytime side introduces the plants and animals of the forest, such as squirrels, songbirds and predators, and how they use light to hunt, forage and hide. The dimly lit night side features singing toads and crickets and listening owls, and shows how nocturnal animals' adaptations let them use the darkness. Immersive sounds, visuals and hands-on activities are meant for visitors of all ages. Admission is free and no registration is required. The exhibit is supported by The Nature Foundation of Will County with a gift from Pembina Pipeline Corporation.
