The 7th annual Upside Down Parade turns the usual parade around: instead of watching floats go by, families walk down Russell Drive in Washington Park while DJs, dancers, jugglers and other performers line the route and interact with the walking crowd. It runs on Halloween, Saturday, October 31, from noon to 2 p.m., near the Washington Park Refectory at 5531 S. Russell Drive. Participants receive goodies along the way and a bag of surprises at the end (while supplies last), so costumes are encouraged. The free, all-ages event is presented by LUMA8 and the City of Chicago under the My Chi, My Future initiative.
