The Winter Express Storytime Train is a Metra round trip from downtown Arlington Heights to Harvard and back on Saturday, December 19, departing at 9:15 a.m. and returning at 11:30 a.m. On board, a conductor reads The Polar Express, and there is music, a snack and a special visit from Santa. Everyone riding, regardless of age, must pre-register — there is no on-site registration — and children must be with a registered adult; the park district asks families to register no more than two adults. Strollers and pets are not allowed. If it fills, join the wait list. Refund requests are due by December 6 and carry a $5 fee.
