In this autumn Family Make and Take at Denver Botanic Gardens' York Street location, children and their grown-ups decorate an 8- to 12-inch wreath with autumn colors, seed pods and artificial foliage, then explore the gardens with a self-guided scavenger hunt about nature's beauty in fall. The program is self-guided and self-paced, and families usually spend 30 to 90 minutes making their wreath and walking the grounds. Sessions are offered Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15, each at 10–11:30 am or 1:30–3 pm. The fee is per wreath: $24 for non-members or $22 for members, which covers one undecorated wreath form plus access to a variety of natural and craft materials. Buy as many projects as the number of wreaths your group plans to make, and list the adults and children attending at checkout. Materials are suited to families with children ages 5 and up. It makes a nice Thanksgiving-season door decoration made together.
