Denver Botanic Gardens' December Family Make and Take invites children and their grown-ups to decorate a seasonal wreath with wintry colors, pinecones and evergreen boughs. After finishing, families bundle up for a self-guided scavenger hunt through the York Street gardens that introduces the common evergreens growing onsite, a good way to combine a holiday craft with a winter walk. The program is self-paced; most families spend 30 to 90 minutes. Sessions run Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13, at 10–11:30 am or 1–2:30 pm. Fees are charged per wreath, $24 for non-members or $22 for members, and include one undecorated 8- to 12-inch wreath form plus natural and craft decorating materials; purchase one project per wreath your group will make. The materials suit families with children ages 5 and up. Registration is required, and cancellations made less than a week ahead are non-refundable.
