Clear Creek Metropolitan Recreation District's Zombie Fun Run brings a costumed Halloween-morning race to Idaho Springs on Saturday, October 31. Runners and walkers choose between a spooky 5K and a 1-mile run, which gives younger children and families a short course of their own while older kids and adults tackle the longer distance. Races start at 10:00 am, with check-in at 320 Chicago Creek Road in Idaho Springs; the district lists the event from 10:00 am to noon. There are costume contests, candy and prizes, so come dressed up. Sign-up details and any entry fees will be posted by the district closer to the event date. Afterward, families can head into downtown Idaho Springs, where the Zombie Party on Miner Street runs from noon on Halloween with all ages welcome. Dress in layers: late-October mornings in Clear Creek Canyon can be cold.
