Children's Museum Houston celebrates Diwali, the festival of lights, on Thursday, November 5, 2026. During the day, Hindi/English storytimes run at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Parent Resource Library, and families can make toran banners, kandil lanterns, chalk rangolis and paper diya lamp banners throughout the museum. The evening, which falls on the museum's Thursday Free Family Night, brings performances by young dancers from Silambam Houston at 5:30 p.m. in Brown Auditorium and 6 p.m. in the Gallery of Wonder, plus Diwali craft workshops from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event listing runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with general admission; the evening programme sits within Free Family Night hours. A friendly introduction to Hindu, Sikh and Jain traditions for preschool and elementary children.
