Sugar Land Parks & Recreation lights the city's Christmas tree at Sugar Land Town Square on Friday, November 20, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. The city's event page describes the evening as a family kickoff to the season; in past years it has included writing letters to Santa, hot chocolate, inflatable slides for kids, keepsake photos with Santa, and holiday performers on the main stage, and the photo gallery shows ice sculptures and an ice-skating performance. Expect large crowds in the plaza. Free parking is available at Mercer Stadium (16403 Lexington Blvd), with shuttles running continuously to Town Square from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., which is the easiest way to arrive with strollers. Questions go to Sugar Land Parks & Recreation at 281-275-2825.
