On Sunday, November 1, 2026, Children's Museum Houston transforms into a colorful Land of the Dead with marigolds, sugar skulls and a museum ofrenda for Día de los Muertos. Little ones can start with a bilingual Giggles & Stories session at 10 a.m., and Spanish/English storytimes follow at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Workshops from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. let children build a mini ofrenda to remember loved ones (12 participants per workshop). Intempo Dance performs Día de los Muertos stories and dances at noon and 2 p.m. in Brown Auditorium. All-day activities include calavera thermoplastic shapes (with a bit of heat-and-molding science), alebrije-inspired stuffed creatures, sugar-skull face art with face-painting crayons, skeleton puppets and papel picado. Included with general admission, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
