Houston Ballet's holiday production of Stanton Welch's The Nutcracker returns to the Wortham Theater Center for its ten-year anniversary run. The story follows Clara, Drosselmeyer, the Nutcracker Prince and the Sugar Plum Fairy from a Christmas Eve party through the Land of Snow to the Kingdom of Sweets, and more than 300 Houston Ballet Academy students perform alongside the professional company. The ballet runs about two hours in two acts with one 25-minute intermission. Houston Ballet recommends the show for children five and older; children under three are not admitted, and every child needs their own ticket. The theater has a family viewing area in the Brown alcove and booster seats for select performances. Discounted Value Day performances are offered. Buy tickets ahead through Houston Ballet.
