Artful Tales is a storytelling session at the Nelson-Atkins in which a storyteller leads children and their caregivers through tales inspired by artworks in the museum's collection. The hour mixes music, movement and hands-on creative activity, so children participate rather than just listen. It takes place in Classrooms 4 and 5 and is designed for children with a grown-up; the museum does not give a specific age range. The event is free, but registration is required: children are registered individually (up to 12 per order) and the number of accompanying chaperones must be entered at checkout.
